Ew.

There is nothing that says "It's time to take an early supper break from cleaning" like a live, albeit waterlogged, bat in one's toilet.

And yes, I had to get help. I'm a big wuss when it comes to potentially-angry wet flying rodents.

Poor thing!

Oh, and poor you, too! :)

Hope it's alright. Any idea how it got in?

I'm not sure, we had one flying around our bedroom the other night (Dan caught it in a towel and let it outside), so I think there must be some way in for them upstairs.

I did feel sorry for it--since you couldn't see it if the seat was down, there's no telling how long it had been there (I didn't discover it until I was about to clean the toilet--thought it was something other than a bat until it "waved" at me!).

Do you have them in the attic? They're actually not hard to get rid of, if you can tell where they're getting in and out.

Watch your house around dusk and see if you can see bats flying out.

Nope, no attic.

No belfry either. :)

Haha. Check the eaves? They can, apparently, also get between the roof and the ceiling of the top floor.

Here's hoping that you aren't infested :)
