Dan and I are looking into getting a small dish system. Does anyone have anything particularly good or bad to say about Dish Network or DirecTV?

I have DirecTV and am satisfied with the setup and service. Dish Network has had trouble at least twice in the past six months maintaining agreements with channels.

We also had DirecTv when we lived in Illinois and had a great experience with it.

I am a passionate direct TV with Tivo user. How bad? I got comcast cable for high speed internet with the intention of dumping Direct TV. ha! by Monday I was ditching the cable.

Everyone I know with Direct TV is miserable when they try to switch. How is that for loyality?

Wow, really? That's definitely a consideration, since the reason we're looking at changing is because of losing channels.

It does sound like a decent service; I suppose I'll feel more confident about choosing once I understand more of how it works--C-band was comparatively easy to grasp, but it's hard to find the information I want on the major companies' web pages.

If there are any specifics I can speak to, let me know. We had it for a year in Illinois. When we moved back out to Arizona, we got an excellent bundle deal with phone, broadband and digital cable, which is the only reason we aren't still using it.

Have you checked them out on the net?
DirecTV just seems a bit more stable, a little more bang for my buck.
