I started on my holiday baking today; I had to stop because I ran out of flour and the new bag got left in Dan's car, but at least I've begun.

So far, I've got:

5 1/2 dozen sugar cookies
12 dozen butterscotch-oatmeal cookies

It's a start.

*drools* Butterscotch-oatmeal cookies.

My Aunt Blanche used to make those. And the best rum balls to ever grace the Gods' good earth.

I hate you :)

I have *nothing* don't yet. I did go and buy 8 lbs. of chocolate disks to mold, and hopefully I will get to that tomorrow. My daughter has promised to bake cookies now that college is out until next year.

What sugar cookie recipe do you use?

Well, I've apparently lost the recipe card in the kitchen at the moment :) but it's an old recipe of my grandmother's--it's easy, you don't even have to roll it out, you drop the dough in spoonfuls on the cookie sheet and then flatten them with (seriously) the bottom of a glass with a wet cloth over it! It works great, but is such an amusing thing to be doing to cookies--my four-year-old thought it was very odd! I think I'm going to have to make another batch--it's supposed to have nutmeg but I was out, and while they are still good there's definitely something missing.

(I love those old-time baking tips--she had a cake recipe where you were supposed to line the pan with greased brown paper :); I've made it, used waxed paper instead.)
