Elvis or Jerry Lee Lewis? Don't care much for either (requested No Elvis from the DJ at our wedding :)), but there are a few Elvis songs I can tolerate.

The Beatles or The Rolling Stones? Stones! Easy one :).

John Lennon or Paul McCartney? Lennon.

Mick Jagger or Keith Richards? Hm, Jagger?

The Kinks or The Yardbirds? The Kinks.

The Doors or The Byrds? The Doors. Duh.

Keith Moon or John Bonham? No strong feelings one way or the other.

Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath? Led Zeppelin.

The Sex Pistols or The Ramones? Ramones!

Iron Maiden or Metallica? I'm not sure I know any Iron Maiden, but I like Metallica well enough (not well enough to own any, though :))

Joy Division or New Order? Another chance to show my abysmal lack of musical knowledge! No idea here :).

The Smiths or The Cure? Close, but Smiths.

Billy Idol or Jon Bon Jovi? Billy Idol. (That's another "Duh," btw. :))

Eddie Van Halen or David Lee Roth? Well, I didn't care much for Van Halen after Roth left but that may have been the presence of Hagar. I'd say Eddie Van Halen, really.

Oasis or U2? U2.

Nirvana or Pearl Jam? Nirvana.

Fiona Apple or Tori Amos? Fiona Apple.

Nine Inch Nails or Korn? Nine Inch Nails.

Coldplay or Radiohead? Radiohead.

Suede or Pulp? From here on in I am just toooo old to answer these questions! :)

Pulp (formed 1978, It released 1982) has been recording much longer than Radiohead (formed 1987 as On a Friday, Drill released 1992), so your knowledge of the latter but not the former can't be just because of your age. :)

Well, let's just say, the chorus to one of Pulp's biggest radio tracks starts, "Let's all meet up in the year 2000...". ;) ("Disco 2000," Different Class, released 1995)

Seriously, though, Pulp simmered in near-obscurity for the first decade of their professional careers, and when they did hit, they made much more of an impression in England than here, while Radiohead pretty much hit the bigtime with their first major-label single. I like Pulp much better, but for level of fame on this side of the pond, Radiohead is definitely much more known.
