I am told that the weasel on the back porch is a short-tailed weasel, also known as a stoat. Apparently they will kill, kill, kill mice as long as there are mice to kill. They'll store them for later. And, when they run out of space, keep killing. Kind of the Terminator of rodentia.

They are cute as hell, though :).

Only ours is currently all white (except the tip of its tail) so even cuter!

Well, it gets the porch mice, and I suppose any mice planning to get to the house via the porch, but we still have plenty in the house. Dan's traps caught six yesterday. We have both the tiny grey mice and the larger brown mice. They are, in fact, cute as well--but they also crap on the kitchen counter which negates a lot of the cute.

That or little mouse bones and skin? Not much, if it could get in there, which I figure either it can't or it doesn't want to (the mice being smaller and more interested) :). It did have a potential route to the basement but Dan blocked it off.
