Getting away from the point here.

So why is it that--when thinking about our renewal of vows this fall--I keep finding myself thinking not about the ritual (which I guess makes some sense since I have to write three other blots between now and then) but about the stuff associated with it. Like, new drinking horn? Should I get a new dress and if so what should it look like? Stupid stuff like that.

Although I have been giving some thought to elements of heathen wedding ceremonies and which would be (or not be) applicable to a renewal of vows for an existing marriage.
