Hestia

Gentle Hestia, sitting at the fire, at the heart
of each home, goddess revered above all others.
Bringer of quiet comfort, of belonging,
of peace, of a place of love and family,
of the strength to hold together against all ill,
provider of serenity, I honor you.
Hestia, seen in candleglow and soft shadow,
I pray to you. Help me to see you in my work,
to make our home a refuge from care and distress.
Give me competence, efficiency, wisdom;
give me quick sharp eyes to see what must be done,
give me will to do it. Goddess, bless my home.

Thank you :). I can never tell whether anything I write is at all good--my goal is for it to be something I can use in my devotions, and additionally to gain some understanding of the god while I'm writing it. Since I have no poetic talent, just not sucking totally is good enough for me!
