guardian of those who have passed from this world,
comforter of those who have left life and love
behind, reuniter of families,
generous holder of many-roomed Hel,
hostess to be of so many who now live.
Hella, seductive one, awesome one,
granter of the last great gift we may receive,
provider of all hospitality,
your hearth ever warm and welcoming,
your tables ever heavy with food,
your casks ever filled with mead and ale.
We thank you, Hella, for your kindnesses
to those we have loved during life and beyond,
for the certainty of your welcome,
for a warm safe place when our lives on Midgard
