I cleaned the stovetop tonight, the household task I loathe above all others. I thought when I got a new stove a few years back, one with removable drop trays, it would be easier. NO! It is so, so much worse. So the top is clean and the wretched little trays are soaking overnight in the sink.

I like it even less than peeling potatoes and that is saying something.

I hate it too. I stick the grids and the metal flame cups (it's a gas cooker) in the dishwasher on hot, pour boiling water on the cooker top and leave it to soak. Then I sponge it and scrub it. I really don't enjoy it at all but it's not as bad as cleaning the floor.

Peeling potatoes, I actually enjoy. /weirdo
